When the ego is taking you out you will not know it is happening, unless you meditate. Why? The ego never conceives of itself as a real being -- it projects the feelings of the real being (YOU) onto external people and things. In this way it hopes to keep you distracted for just a little bit longer. And tomorrow? Just a little bit longer. How many "tomorrows" will you allow the ego to overtake? Just a little bit longer. Until you meditate and inquire within for all your answers, you cannot say to your ego, "The buck stops here, buddy," and take responsibility as a real being.
