I can relate.  Most of my childhood felt like a struggle and a dissociation from myself and others. Growing up as a child of alcoholics and codependent addicts, experiencing and repressing abuse, I spent much of my first ten years in shock and isolated.

Entering my teenage years, I discovered that the world around me reflected the ways I felt inside.

I felt my first "spark" of healing at age 11 when I received medical hypnosis.  For the first time, I was aware I was not my body and not my mind.
By age 15, I was meditating several hours daily, and reading books on spiritual practice and yoga.  I journaled my inner worlds and dreams.  I began to feel uplifted and hopeful.

I entered Americorps community service for a year in Boston and expanded my awareness of broader struggles in the world.  This ignited my desire to change things on a bigger level.

In college I pursued diverse studies including religion, theater, anthropology, pre-med, and urban development.  I studied humans from various perspectives, trying to find the best way to make a difference.  I practiced yoga and zen buddhist meditation intensively for several hours per day.  I discovered and trained in reiki and shamanic healing systems.

After college, I found a healing mentor and took a professional healer training intensive for six months.  Then I secluded myself in my apartment for 3.5 months to meditate 12 hours a day.  I would not stop until I was clear on my purpose and how I could contribute to heal the world.

In 2004, I opened a professional shamanic healing practice in a small room at a yoga studio in Boston, and hit a wall.  I was finally living my dream.  My clients were getting results they liked.  I had succeeded in launching my career doing what I loved by age 24.  I was making a difference.
But my inner knowing said, “there is more."

My mind had a lot of questions.  What more?

"I was the problem and I am the solution."  

​I was finally ready.  I found the Modern Mystery School.

Consciousness is where this happens.  I am the problems I face.  BUT I cannot solve my human problems with the same consciousness that created those problems!

This is a big dilemma.  How do you gain that consciousness to actually RESOLVE your problems and move forward?
Do you hope that someone else is going to change?  Do you hope that the world is going to change?  NO!  You are making the world the way it is.  I am making the world the way it is.  WE are making the world the way it is.
